Product: HP Z5600 PostScript Printer
- Occasionally I can get the plotter to run an “auto-diagnostic”. During this diagnostic, the carriage moves to the right but is unable to move over the service station and then it immediately goes to the far left and ends with an error.

- I removed the right cover and did observe the carriage is being blocked from moving over the service station. I’ve attached two pictures which show what is happening.
- The first picture shows where the carriage is stopping when moving to the right. The second picture highlights where the carriage is being blocked

The pictures suggest that the service station is not returning to proper home position. There could be something in the station blocking the movement or the station is defective. If you cannot find a blockage I would just replace the service station.
On the back of the station there is a hole you can use a Torx 10 bit to cycle the service station.
