Hi, Updated my Mac to Sequoia 15.7.8 and updated the HP Click to 4.8.118 and the Mac rejects it and insists on sending it to the bin. It deleted (off the Mac) the previous version so now I can't use the software at all! Any help getting HP Click 4.8.117 so that I can do some printing???

Hello @NZarts, Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for providing the details. Based on your description, the issue appears to have started after updating to macOS Sequoia 15.7.8 and HP Click 4.8.118. When macOS immediately moves an application to the Bin, it is typically because it cannot verify the application's security signature or compatibility, rather than indicating a problem with your printer.

This behavior is usually caused by macOS Gatekeeper blocking the application due to a security verification or compatibility issue. Since the previous version was removed during the update, HP Click is no longer available on your Mac.

1. Allow HP Click to Open

If macOS has blocked the application, you may be able to approve it manually.

  1. Open System Settings > Privacy & Security.
  2. Scroll to the Security section.
  3. If you see a message stating that HP Click was blocked, click Open Anyway.
  4. Confirm the prompt and try launching HP Click again.

Alternatively:

  1. Locate the HP Click installer in your Downloads folder.
  2. Control-click (or right-click) the installer.
  3. Select Open, then click Open again when prompted.

2. Use AirPrint While Troubleshooting

If HP Click cannot be installed immediately, you can continue printing using Apple's built-in AirPrint support.

  1. Open System Settings > Printers & Scanners.
  2. Select your printer and click the button to remove it.
  3. Click the + button to add the printer again.
  4. Select your printer from the list.
  5. In the Use field, choose AirPrint (or Secure AirPrint, if available).
  6. Complete the setup and print a test page.w

After approving the application through macOS security settings, HP Click should install and launch normally. If the issue is specific to HP Click compatibility, configuring the printer with AirPrint will allow you to continue printing until an updated version is available.

If the problem persists, could you let us know:

  • Which HP DesignJet or HP printer model you are using?

Have a great day!

HP Click won't open, it only has a popup that states: "HP Click is damaged and can’t be opened. You should move it to the Bin". Very frustrating as my Designjet Postscript Z6 printer has never been able to connect to the internet (so no AirPrint) .. only hard wired to my Mac. HP is soo controlling in everything it does, their website is a total mess with so many dead links, it's impossible to find anything.
I came across a post that said it might be because I'm using Safari to download??? (there's no Mac download option on HP website unless you select windows 11 then change os to Mac) tried it on Chrome and YES!! it had a different page and had a Mac option, selected it and... dead link again.
