We unboxed the HP DJ 2500dr for a customer and set it up this morning.

It was doing the standard initializing process.  It got to 80% of the way through, and then it errored out.

It said to clear the paper path - and that the output valve was unable to start due to the paper in the paper path.

We checked the paper path on the back of the machine, where it had indicated that we look, and there was a piece of tape stuck on the bottom of the output path - inside the machine a bit.  We unscrewed and removed this plastic flange and peeled off the tape and replaced it.  We plugged the machine back in and got the same error.

It's literally brand new out of the box, so it's odd that it's having a paper path issue.

Has anyone seen this before?  Is this common?  I guess we've been lucky as none of the systems we've installed to this point have had this problem or thrown that error code.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

thanks,

Guy

This is an issue with the valve motor that drives the output. Had it occur once on a machine that was about a year old, never out of box. Make sure the exit assembly is seated properly and you did not accidently use screws that were too long and may be restricting movement.
