Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello.

 

Recently I bought new Hp 11 black printhead. On the box there is a notice that it requires new firmware.

But plotter shows no reaction after running hp 500-800 firmware upgrade tool, while tool itself tells that firmware was successfully sent to plotter and I should follow instructions there. 

 

Tested this on two PCs with same result.

No, all I have on my work runs on win 10. Will try to ask someone for a notebook with win 7.

Sort of strange though, given that FW was released this summer.

Upd:

No, windows 7 delivered same results.

Interestingly though, at first there was an error from the installer, something like:

"In order to upgrade firmware, printer <> must be shared". Just like that, with angle brackets instead of a printer model.

After I enabled sharing, firmware updater "sent" firmware to plotter just like previously, yet plotter still shows no reaction.

Инструкция по прошивке:

1. Установить драйвер
2. Открыть общий доступ в свойствах принтера
3. Запустить прошивку
4. Перезагрузить принтер
5. Подаждать пока обновится прошивка (на экране принтера показывается процесс прошивки)
6. Когда на экране принтера отобразится картинка (выдерните кабель питания), выдерните кабель питания из розетки и подключите обратно.
7. Принтер прошит

 

Если во время запуска прошивки возникает ошибка:
"In order to upgrade firmware, printer <> must be shared"
значит не открыт общий доступ в свойствах принтера

If you restart the printer it should boot and install the firmware.... 

 

After doing this it still didnt help me use the new printhead though
