HP Latex 700 W
macOS 11.0 Big Sur

Hi,

Requesting clarification on two things. regarding the installation and setup of HP Latex 700 W.

1. We have purchased one HP Latex 700 W printer last week and we are about to install that. The technician from the local dealer saying that the printer must be in the "On" state all the time and serious issues will occur in case if we kept the printer turned off for more than 2 hours. He said the issues will occur with white ink printing. Is there any such requirement?

2. As per the technician the printer must be connected to the internet all the time and kept online to work properly.

We have checked some setup tutorials and videos and didn't found anything to clarify this. Can someone help..?

Hi Jino2

According to user manual - The 700W and 800W printers should never be turned off: use sleep mode instead. Automatic white-ink maintenance cannot occur when the printer is completely turned off and the white-ink printheads cannot survive for more than 8 hours without maintenance.

About network - printer regularly check's updates, sends and stores information (internal prints), and mostly keeps one network configuration. If unplugged from network, printer may change configurations after plugging again to network (TCP/IP, DNS and so on) and you may lose more time to configure it back to original configuration...
