Spoiler
My printer is now giving me an alert with the printer ink system.  I have pulled the cartridges (which have ink) and reset the printer by pulling the power over night and re-powering back up.  This is my trusty large format printer and used very sparingly ( mostly to print large format sheet music) and the cost of the cartridges.  The current cartridges have plenty of ink and I have never seen this message before.  Is there a way to determine if it is the cartridges or do I need to send it in to get the print head replaced?

That is what I was thinking is may be.  I am thinking I can possibly buy the part and replace it myself.  The printer is a great printer but I am hesitant to treat it as a disposable piece of technology

Do you think trying to use a cleaner kit to unclog it and refresh the current head will be successful and worth the time?  I am skeptical about those head cleaning kits if they actually work.

If you had a poor print quality in that case, the cleaning kit might help, but you have a ink system failure, even after the cleaning you would still have ink system failure.
