Hey HP Community, thanks for taking the time to read this post.
Here's whats happening:
1. HP T1700 turns on and initially boots into the normal OS, and reports that it needs 3 new universal printheads
2. I start the process to load paper - paper feeds normally, I select paper type/size, and then the printer reports System Error 0065-0002-0008 and prompts me to restart.
Searching online I've found the error is relate to Media Path ? Paper motor jam (generic) and suggests: "Reboot, Check paper path, remove visible obstacles, check motor, analog encoder and connectors, replace analog encoder, check Grid motor diagnostic to check motor status". But it doesn't suggest next steps to resolving the issue.
3. After rebooting, the plotter runs through diagnostics for paper feeding and determines no issues.
4. Reboot again and try again to load paper. This time I select the generic "coated bond" option for paper type as well as a specific roll length (before I had selected a more specific paper type), and the paper appears to feed normally.
Note: on this plotter, paper will load properly about 1/3 of the time and seems to vary in success based on which paper settings I choose, but I can't really find a pattern to loading being successful. Not sure if this is an actual error or just a user learning curve problem. But it's super annoying when it throws the error, as there is no option to skip the diagnostic process (and rebooting twice), which takes at least 15 minutes.
At this point I'm thinking a service engineer may be required.
Thanks, anything is appreciated.
