Hello,

We have a very strange Issue with our HP DesignJet T795. As soon as it turns on, it crashes with the following screen. When the error is present the printer is completely stuck, it is not even possible to reset it with the power button. We had to unplug the power. After restarting, the error appears immediately, but only if the network cable is connected. Without the network cable it prints via USB just fine. As soon as we plug the network cable back in the error appears.

I tried resetting the printer to factory default with no success.

What could be the issue here and how could we fix it?

Likely somewhere on your network, someone has sent a corrupted or wrong print driver language file. To test, I would apply a static manual address to the printer, then direct wire to a desktop computer with a manual address set to the same network segment as the printer and try to print.

IE:

printer manual address of 192.168.1.4

Computer manual address of 192.168,1,5

It it works you will need to figure where the bad data is coming from.

Thank you for your reply. I already tried turning off all computers that usually access that printer with no success. I am also going to try your suggestion, it will help us isolate the issue even further.

Thank you — I was able to access the settings using your suggestion. After disabling most of the options in the Services settings as well as DHCP and IPv6, the printer started working again.

I then tried enabling a few additional services (Bonjour and Multicast IPv4) so the printer could be discovered on the network, but this caused the same error as before. I didn’t have time to troubleshoot the issue further that day, so we reverted to the previous working configuration and added the printer manually using its static IP.
