HP designJet Z3200

My HP DesignJet Z3200 ps printer, needs drivers that will work on my new macOS Big Sur. This printer has been discontinued by HP.  The DesignJet Utility keeps quitting.  Are there any drivers  or work arounds available that will work with the Z3200, on macOS Big Sur??  Hate to get rid of this great printer, cause I can't find a proper driver to work it.   Any advice or work around would be appreciated

Hi,

Please try following the HP Uninstaller below first and uninstall any currently installed print drivers:

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/HP_Quick_Start/osx/Installations/Essentials/HP_Uninstaller...

Next, download and install the latest Postscriprt driver and check for any change:

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/printers/col39819/mac11PS/Universal-PostScript.dmg

For HP Click, please make sure you install the latest version below:

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/hpdesignjetclick/HPClick_3.3.168.dmg

Hope that may help,

Shlomi

Sholmi,  It Worked!  After erasing all HP drivers.. Downloaded the designJet Z3200 RASTER driver from HP,  It works with macOS 11 Big Sur.  Hallelujah!  The raster driver is the only one that accurately recognizes the Z3200 printer.  The other drivers offered by HP site for Z3200 did not.  I now have full access to dialogue about paper type, quality, etc as I used to. The Raster Driver!

Thanks Sholmi I can still use the Z3200!

No! I doesn't work at all. I've tried everything except to connect with an IP-adress.

I would like someone from HP to contact me directly.

I work as a teacher and are in real need to get this working for my students.

It's urgent!!!!

Best wishes

Peter

Hi Shlomil. This information is useful. Do you know if I can follow this advice for my Macbook 2015 running OS Catalina? My Designjet Z3200 utility keeps quitting and Photoshop can't seem to locate HP icc (paper options) when I go to print. Then I get a Report Warning 16 on the job list.
Thanks for any advice you can offer.

There's a person I know that is also using a Macbook and running Catalina who's having the same problem with a Designjet T1100.  I tried to help him to get it working on the Macbook but had little to no success.  Same problem, the computer kept losing the printer.  Hopefully, Shlomil will be able to shed some light on this.

I don't work for HP....I just repair their printers.

HP Z3200 drivers for Mac.  First select your printer on the HP download site ,  at the top of the HP driver download page, there will be a  drop-down menu for identifying the  Mac OS you are using.  In my case I had to set it to mac OS 11.0.  Easy to overlook this drop down menu. Be sure the OS listed matches the OS you are using. If they are not matched the  wrong drivers will be downloaded. This worked for me. This driver issue is a real drag. Good luck
