  1. I've had this printer for a month or two, and I used it on a regular basis.  I keep getting this message randomly.  There's no rhyme or reason when I get it. Has anyone else had this issue and/or is there a fix for it? With Covid-19 floating around I would like to hold off from having a service tech come to my place.IMG_9441.jpg

Troubleshooting for this error consists of ensuring that nothing is in the head path and to run the Media Path-Check Scan Motor diagnostic. My non-disclosure agreement prevents me from publishing the steps required but as the unit is under warranty you should contact Technical Support and they will talk you through the diagnostics procedure and dispatch a technician if required.

Good morning,

is the code appear when printing; like roll forward ?  or when the carriage is moving.

the first recommendations are to check the starwheels (rail where the carriage is moving): (you  can easily remove it with 2 screws and check on the bottom side if any missing or broken wheels)

I am an HP Employee.

Okay, this error never seems to happen or at least not yet when printing.  It only occurs when the machine does its own maintenance, though the error doesn't happen habitually, it's at random.   The machine runs fine when printing or least it has been.
