Product: HP Latex 700 W Printer
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 11
How do I move the "carriage" manually on my 700W Printer while I am cleaning the encoder strip? It seems to be locked, however the manual says to move it by hand. Try ing to clean my printer and this would be nice to know! Thank you for your help

Clean the encoder strip (PMK13)
Cleaning procedure
1. Turn off the printer.
2. Remove the maintenance cartridge.
3. Lift the curing module.
4. Clean the left-hand side of the encoder strip with a lint-free cloth dampened with distilled water or general-
purpose industrial cleaner.
5. Move the carriage manually to the other side of the printer.
6. Clean the right-hand side of the encoder strip with a lint-free cloth dampened with distilled water or
general-purpose industrial cleaner.
7. Lower the curing module.
8. Insert the maintenance cartridge.
9. Turn on the printer.
Maybe this user guide is more complete than official one in HP site...
page 182.
if this isn't helping to freely move carriage, also you may try to replace maintenance cartridge and when carriage moves, turn off printer and do the encoder strip cleaning...Be alert for scammers posting fake support phone numbers and/or email addresses on the community.
