Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi
My office is running an old but very reliable T790 plotter
Have not updated our firmware for quite a while
We recently purchase a new set of print head but was inform that we need to update our firmware first
Our plotter is currently running on version 12 firmware
The latest on HP support site is version 14 (IG_14_01_01.1) and we are unable to install this version
Heard from our local technician that we need to update to version 13 first, then only able to update to the latest version 14
cannot skip
can know where can we find & download version 13 of firmware for T790?

I got one for download, but prohibited from sharing thru this forum..

Hi repairatrooper,

Thank you for your kind respond. The solution helps.

Our plotter is up & running again after the firmware update.

We learned that our plotter had the earlier issue due to plotter not connected to internet due to wrong DMS setting.

The plotter had sent us notifications from time to time but we had not acted on them.

We had a bad assumption all these while that the internet connection is not required as we don't send print over the internet.

We forgotten about the firmware.

Now that internet connection setting is locked in to automatic update & automatic download, the plotter should not have this issue pops up again.

So were you able to get V14 to load ok?  

 

The ftp link doesn't work for me.

I don't work for HP....I just repair their printers.

Try the official HP link

HP DesignJet T790 Printer series Software and Driver Downloads | HP® Customer Support

make sure your plotter is connected to internet & the internet connection is in working order

download the latest version 14 firmware IG_14_01_01.1 using the above link on to PC

copy file onto a USB drive

insert USB into plotter

it will trigger the upgrading process

follow plotter on screen instruction
