Hello,
I have an HP DesignJet XL 3600 PS that requires HP 766F ink cartridges. It's not an old plotter, I've had it for a couple years, but the ink cartridges are nearly impossible to find; something I did not realize until we had already leased and installed the printer. These cartridges were hard to find when we first ordered some a couple years ago, and they're basically impossible to find with current supply shortages. I've been on backorder from our supplier for 3 - 4 months now. I think I can confidently say I will never see those cartridges from our supplier. But I can't seem to find ANY of these cartridges currently available from any supplier.
I'm afraid I have no choice but to inject my current cartridges with new ink. Is there a way for me to find out which different cartridges might have compatible ink? Any help is appreciated.

Try different vendors, that part number shows up as available on several websites, (not always a sure thing I know). I would caution against compatible inks if you still have a service contract as these devices hard code a trigger that will tell a technician that you have used non-HP inks and will void any support on the print bar mechanism if you have print quality issues.
I hear your concern about supply issues. I have had some common parts take 16 weeks to deliver.
