My plotter will not recognize or load a new roll of paper. I am unsure if it is related but a couple months ago I had a leaky printhead, I cleaned up the best I could and it has worked since but it is still possible I missed something important.

If you had a leaky printhead then it is most likely due to ink pollution of the line sensor. This happens when the brush in the picture below get covered with ink and then that ink gets transferred to the line sensor, essentially blinding it. You need to clean the sensor, and you either need to find a way to remove the ink from the brush without damaging it, using a damp cotton swap and brush from the base to the top might work. Once the brush is deformed it is pretty much useless and then you have to replace the service station.t730.jpg
