Prints good for the first few plots after printhead replacment then turns purple. Have tried two new in date printheads with same result. Any recommendations would be apprechated.

Thanks for the help. Could not draw anything out with syringe. Not ink or air. Apperantlly there is a blockage in the black tube. Syringe plunger would completely return due to vacume.

Hi Moeradio,

If you are replacing printheads (I assume Black (K)), getting good plots and it fading again then you likely have an issue with your Ink tubes and/or Air Pressure system.

The printheads ship with a few mm if ink already in them so you are using that ink up without it being replenished by the tubes.

You can try using a syringe to pull ink through the tubes to the septums at the carriage and try again with a new printhead but if the ink is not pusing through the tubes it will happen again.

Check the Air Pressure diagnostics (not sure if this model has that) or an Ink Purge - you may need to order startup printheads for the DJ800

Good Luck,

Roy K
