Doing a little google search brought up this:

  • Code: 0026-0100
  • Description:26. ISS
  • Causes:Sensor malfunction
  • Remedy:
  • Code: 0026-0100
  • Description:ISS ototrip failure
  • Causes:
  • Remedy:Remote troubleshooting (call agent)1. Switch the power off and disconnect the power cord. Reconnect the power cord and power on the printer.2. Go to Support Menu, see Entering the support menus and run the ISS diagnostic test, see 4.12 ISS. 3. Depending on the result, the call agent should arrange a service engineer visit to change the ISS.Onsite troubleshooting and solution (service engineer)1. Ensure the ISS cables are properly fit, and reconnect them as needed.2. Ensure there isn’t any ink spot or media debris around the opto sensors that might prevent their correct function.3. Replace the ISS, see ISS.

Iss is the Ink Supply System.  Are you using HP ink cartridges or after-market refills?  Sometimes the after-market ink cartridges have faulty chips that can cause problems.  Feel free to post more info on what you were doing when the error popped up and what you were printing and what program you were using.  Also, try disconnecting the printer from your computer and restart the printer, just to eliminate the error being caused by the computer and not the printer.

You can do a google search for the service manual that will add some other trouble shooting tips.  Let us know what happens.

I don't work for HP....I just repair their printers.
