My printer is a HP DesignJet 510 42 inch printer. When it is printing a picture it will sometimes  start to looks like it is smudging and when it does that it will start to print lines on the side of the picture. I was wondering if anyone knows why it does this. I am printing on canvas. Here is a picture of the smudging.

I don’t have a good picture of the lines but it looks like it would be doing something for a test print it is a row of different color lines right beside the picture. Thanks for your help.
