HP DesignJet Z5600 44-in PostScript Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am currently trying to solve a problem with an error coming up on the Printheads of the Z5600.

It has not had a lot of use over the last 12 months due to COVID-19 restrictions on our operation.

When we came to use it, we had to renew the Matt Black print cartridge, and the Yellow and Magenta printhead on the left of the service station was saying that it was faulty. I purchased a set of all the printheads as I had never replaced the printheads and I replaced them all.

The machine said that the new Yellow and  Magenta printhead was faulty, and not recognised in the printer. The other two printheads were recognised. I called a technician out from the place I bought the printer and he did everything I did, cleaned the contacts with alcohol in the service station, and cleaned the contacts on the new printhead. After doing this at least half a dozen times the machine was still telling us that the printhead was faulty.

Yesterday,  I ordered a second, new, printhead and put it in this morning, and it too registered as faulty. Has anyone had this experience before? Does anyone have any suggestions? Am I going to have to replace the entire service station because of one faulty printhead problem?

hi,

Please check the plotter's firmware. This issue comes due to firmware or dirty printhead contacts or carraige PCA.

The latest firmware is CH_10_01_00.1.
