We recently acquired a Designjet Z2600 24" large format printer. A few questions so we can know what to expect:
- Dried Ink: A colleague suggested that dried ink can be a problem if the printer is not used frequently. We plan on using it every two weeks, but there may times when a month or two will pass between uses. Is this a concern?
- Print Heads: will the printer alert us when they need replacing or do we have to look for quality defects?
- Ink management: before printing, will the printer estimate the ink needed for the job and alert us if we need to insert new cartridges before the job goes through?
Thanks!

Hi,
The recommendation is to keep it on at all time.
If you use the power button the printer will go off, completely.
When not in use it will go to sleep mode, will wake up to do the maintenance and back to sleep.

Hi,
When the printer is not in use it will do its own maintenance. You just need to keep the printer on.
The printer wil do the maintenance and go back to sleep.
To check the printhead health, print the diagnostic page before printing and do a printhead cleaning to the printhead and needs it.
If the ink cartridge is depleted during printing, the print will resume after you install the new one
