HP DesignJet 500 Mono C7770E – Working Driver for Windows XP 32-bit (USB)

After searching for a compatible driver for the HP DesignJet 500 Mono C7770E (42-inch), I finally found one that works!

Confirmed working configuration:

  • Printer: HP DesignJet 500 Mono

  • Model: C7770E

  • Width: 42 inches

  • Operating System: Windows XP 32-bit

  • Connection: USB

  • Driver: hpdj500monowumpclen.exe

  • Driver Version: 6.8

Important: The regular HP DesignJet 500 / 500PS drivers did not work with my monochrome printer. The specific Mono driver version 6.8 worked successfully.

I have uploaded a copy to Google Drive to help anyone facing the same problem.

This driver was tested successfully on my printer with Windows XP 32-bit via USB.

This is a community backup of an older driver, not an official HP download. Please verify the file before installation.

I hope this helps keep these reliable old plotters running!
