HP DesignJet T520 36-in Printer
Linux

I'm trying to print a poster on a Designjet T520. I'm connected to the printer via USB. The printer display allows me to select single sheet. A brief video plays on the printer display showing me how to insert the paper. I've followed correctly as far as I can tell.

The printer simply doesn't recognize that I've placed the paper in the feed slot. I've pushing and shifted it every way I can think of. I can't see any other obvious feed slot. I'm not sure if there's just some very quirky way to feed the paper to this printer or whether it's just broken maybe. The printer hasn't been used in a long time, but as far as I can tell it's working well, other than not recognizing the paper.

Any guesses?

You did use the front panel icon to change to sheet?

Yes, I selected Single Sheet from the menu. The printer's display shows a little cartoon video of how to load the single sheet paper. The end of that video is just showing on the side of the image posted.
