HP DesignJet Z3200 24-in Photo Printer
Is an old DJ Z3200 PS that a friend gave me... I already bought the cartridge belt repair kit from a company and was proud to be able to install it thanks to their explanatory guide).
Now, from the diagnostics menu (the one you access with the combination on/ok/power), I started a series of tests that worked fine for the most part, but it got stuck on one that asked for special print heads that I don't have.

I would like to start the plotter normally skipping this test, but it reloads every time I turn on the printer.

Is there a way to fix this problem?

Sounds like you might have accidentally gotten into the "Purge Ink System" mode and it wants you to insert the setup heads.  They look like this:

You can buy them off ebay but shop around because you might get them at a cheaper price.  I think I only paid about $25 for mine from Ebay.

 

There isn't anyway around the Purge mode that I know of, once you're in it.  It will continue to automatically go there when booting the machine.  If you discover a way to get around it, please post up the solution.

Yes. Is as you say. 
No skipping test solutions found yet.
But the test printhead are simply without the electronics that the printes needs to locate them, so, a navigate tecnician said to me that I can simply remove the normal ones and go on with the test.
I did it, but 3 cartridge have not enough ink to proceed. So, I'm waiting the new ones.

Good to hear.  I have to say though, I tried that once in desperation and it worked okay but made quite a mess in the carriage area because of all the ink it pumps out so you may want to lay some paper towels or some kind of absorbent material on top of the silver caps that are exposed when the printheads are out and maybe below also since it will run down the side of the slots.  Try not to get the carriage contacts contaminated with ink.  If you do, just use some warm water and a coffee filter (they're lint free) to wipe them off.

 

Keep us updated.  Hopefully you'll have good luck getting it going again.  They're great printers.

Your hint about the ink mess in the carriage helped a lot: I succeeded in completing the test with a pile of paper towels right on the nozzles. 

Now I'm stuck on another level: error 79:04.

Issue remains Even after rebooting and successfully updating firmware.

Any other valuable suggestion on the point?

Probably the hardest error to trouble shoot is the 79:04 because it's so generic and can be caused by firmware, software or hardware issues.

The SM doesn't say much about it, other that updating the firmware.  Other HP printers give a more detailed explanation, such as the T2300.  It lists some other possible causes such as wrong file format.  Here's a link to the T2300 SM:

It might help to read over the explanation and the possible causes and see if any of those might be of help to solve.  I realize it's a different model but the explanation is the  most complete I've found so far.    

 

You might try googling "Designjet Z3200 79:04".  I tried that and it brought up more results that might help.

 

You're sure you have the latest firmware, right?  And that you got the encoder strip back in correctly?   If the printer didn't throw that error prior to changing the belt, you might want to backtrack and check you work on the belt replacement.

 

Someone else might chime in with other ideas, too.
