HP DesignJet T2530 36-in PostScript Multifunction Printer

Hello,

I just picked up a Designjet T2530 and am trying to get it to print a test page. At first, The ink (all 130ml expired but HP originals) levels said none were empty but now it says the Yellow is empty. I opened the actual cartridge to see that the bag still has at least 30% of the ink left.

Anyway, now I replaced it with an off-brand 300ml Yellow which it accepted until moments later when I tried working on the printhead error ( Printhead information states: Status: ok, Error Code: Unknown). In the middle of that, the printer said the yellow was out of ink and now no matter how many times I insert and reinsert the off-brand or the expired original it keeps saying it's empty.

Why is it showing empty and is there anything I can do to get it to recheck the cartridge's ink levels? Maybe a reset? I've already updated the firmware to the latest.

On a side note, the Office Depot a mile from my house has the same printer and they put in the same cartridges

Here's what theirs said:

130ml Hp Yellow: Full but expired

300ml Offbrand Yellow: Full but with "?" overlayed on the level

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated, Thanks!

sounds like the station the cartridges plug into might be defective. I suggest you look around the internet and find a service manual which will give you troubleshooting diagnostics for the machine.

I had another cartridge come in and it worked so it looks like the issue was with the chip in the first one. However, i did download the user and service manuals and theyve been a great resource. Thanks again for the help!
