I'm posting here because none of the virtual tools recognize my printer's serial number. I had to check "product I don't own" despite owning it because it won't take my serial number. I would be happy to submit photos of the printer and the back tag indicating this is, in fact, my serial number.

I have a HP DesignJet T520 from 2012 and it has old firmware. This printer is part of the machines that require a firmware update or they can reject cartridges. (HP DesignJet T120 Printer and T520 Printer Series - Firmware Upgrade Required | HP® Support).

We've followed the steps in the document linked and they aren't showing a firmware update available. However, if we search the printer in HPs driver/firmware section we find that it does have two new firmware updates since our version. (HP DesignJet T520 Printer series Software and Driver Downloads | HP® Support)

I'm wondering how I can update this machine to the latest firmware so that it can potentially fix the cartridge issue we're having.

Older printer model, so you will have to use W10 OS, not sure will it work on W11 if you have it.

Identify the printer model you have, download the correct firmware file and follow the instructions.
