I have an HP DesignJet T830 plotter that I need to configure to print with LPR. Basically, I need to setup a batch file that can plot TIFF images as they appear in a directory straight to the plotter using the lpr utility in Windows. I have had success doing this in the past using Linux and Unix machines, but I simply can not get it to function in Windows. Every time I send a print with the command below I get a single line of garbled ASCII characters, a feed of about 8" of paper, a cut, and then it will start all over again. It will continue doing this until I cancel the print. Here is the command I am sending (note I have tried every variation of this command by adding quotes around the options, adding and removing options, etc.)

lpr -S 192.168.x.x -P PRINTER -ol test.tiff

For reference, the test.tiff image that I am trying to send will read and print without issue from a thumb drive in the USB port on the printer. I have also tried sending PDF, JPEG, postscript, and text files but none of them appear to make it to the printer. They will appear to be working in the lpr utility, but the plotter never responds and the lpq utility doesn't show anything in the queue. The only files that seem to actually work are TIFF images.

If anyone has any ideas on what I could be doing wrong, I'm all ears.
