This error code indicates a failing CIS element (part of the scanner)
Service manual lists fixing in this order
Replace the CIS B element
Clean the scanner glass and perform a calibration.
Upgrade firmware
Replace Scanner control board.
I would try cleaning and calibration first and updating the firmware before replacing any parts.
