Designjet Z6100

Hi all,

Z6100 has a 46:13 error - the Manual says to change the Primer Assembly after trying the Turn off and unplug method.

I replaced the Primer Assembly but the 46:13 error remains. It appears during Initialization.

I initialized in Diagnostic mode and all the sections pass (Electronic Module, Scan Axis, Paper Drive, APS, etc) except the Primer Test (46:13)

I spoke with HP Support and they said it could be one of three things

1: a DOA Primer

2: Printmech board

3: interconnect board

I checked and all my voltage lights turn on at the Printmech and Interconnect

Has anyone else experienced this issue?

Does anyone have any good troubleshooting thoughts regarding this?

Cheers,

Roy

Hi All,

Please read previous posts to see what was done already and what results we were getting.

Yesterday we had a new Primer, a New Printmech PCA and an Interconnect PCA (I had one).

since I had already replaced the Primer (and didn't believe it was the issue anymore) I started by replacing the interconnect.

I initialized in Diagnostic mode, ran the Primer test and it passed. The primer was moving.

I ran a couple of other Diagnostics, Initialized the primter and Calibrated the Primer.

In my case the issue was the Interconnect PCA

Hi,

Does the primer moves? If it does, do the primer calibration

And, what part number did u used to buy the primer?

Also, make sure the encoder strip is clean and the belt in good shape.

If the carriage is not moving to the right possition for the primer to work you will get the error.

Best regards

Scan Axis diagnostics pass. I am getting encoder feed back.

The belt was changed within the last year and the encoder strip is clean.

The error appears during the printer initialization and during the Primer test in diagnostic mode.

The Primer does not move at all.

Not able to get to any Service Utilities or Calibrations.

Part number is Q6651-60265

Hi,

Do the primer motor test. If it does not move, replace it.

If the primer moves, but the test fail, tell us were it fails.

If it does move and pass the test, do the primer calibration
