Hi @Buildwell,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

I  understand how  it can be to see that error right after replacing your ink cartridge.

Could you please share the exact printer model number with me?

Here are a few  steps you can try :

  1. Check cartridge seating: Open the printer cover and make sure the cartridges are firmly clicked into place. Sometimes they may feel secure but aren’t fully locked in.
  2. Clean electrical contacts: Power off the printer, remove the cartridge, and gently wipe the copper-colored contacts with a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water. Let them dry before reinserting.
  3. Reset the printer: With the printer powered on, unplug the power cord from the back, wait about 60 seconds, then plug it back in and restart.
  4. Update firmware: Outdated firmware can sometimes cause cartridge recognition issues. Check HP’s support website https://support.hp.com/  for the latest update for your model.
  5. Try another cartridge: If available, test with a different genuine HP cartridge to rule out a defective one.

You can also refer to the link explaining about the  : HP Printers - An 'Ink System Failure,' 'System Supply Problem' or 'Supply System Problem' Error Displays    - Click here .

I hope this helps.

I'm an HP Employee.
