HP DesignJet T650 36-in Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

I can't believe I can not delete custom page sizes I created!

I'm using Geverse Geographix geologic mapping software, Win-11; as setting an output page size is more of a 'trail and error' process, I wind up with several print sizes I need to get rid of.

Hope you can help with this.

My old DJ 500 series print mangier was great, just wish I had known what a problem the 650 series print mangier is to use, I would have bought a different series printer!

Hello,

I can help you with this — and you’re right, the DesignJet T630/T650 driver hides custom page-size management, which makes deletion far less obvious compared to the old DJ 500 print manager.

Here is the direct and correct resolution for removing custom page sizes on the T650 in Windows 11:

How to Delete Custom Page Sizes for the T650 (Windows 11)

The key point:
You cannot delete them from the HP driver UI.
You must delete them from Windows Print Server Properties, because Windows stores all custom page sizes as “Forms.”

Do this:

1. Open Print Server Properties

  • Press Windows Key + R

  • Type: control printers

  • Press Enter

  • At the top, click Print server properties (not the printer).

2. Go to the Forms tab

  • Select the Forms tab

  • Enable the checkbox: “Create a new form” → this unlocks the delete button
(Yes — this is counter-intuitive but required)

3. Delete the unwanted custom page sizes

  • In the list, find your custom sizes (anything you created)

  • Select each one → click Delete

If Delete is still greyed out:

  • Make sure no application and no print queue is actively referencing that page size

  • Restart the Print Spooler service and try again

4. Restart the PC

Windows caches form definitions — restarting ensures the deletions propagate to the HP driver and all applications.

📝 Why the T650 behaves this way

The T650 (like all newer HP DesignJet Z/T series) relies heavily on Windows’ built-in print architecture.
That means:

  • Custom sizes are stored as Windows Forms, not HP-managed objects.

  • The HP driver can create them but cannot delete them.

  • Only the Print Server Properties interface can remove them.

This is expected behavior on the 600-series DesignJets.
