macOS 10.13 High Sierra

Hello everyone. My T770 has been sitting idle for a few years. Now I tried to restart it, and it gave me some errors regarding cartridges, ink, and printheads. I turned it on and off a few times, and at a certain point, the initialization failed, and error 01.0:10 appeared, along with a message to restart. I tried restarting it, but to no avail. All three lights are red. I tried removing and reinserting the card, but to no avail. What can I try? Thanks for your attention.

Remove ink and printheads and turn the printer ON, to see if it will initialise without the error

Thanks Valsimot. I thought I'd try it. Cartridges are fine, but how do I unlock the carriage, which is all the way to the right?

HP Recommended

If the printer during initialization unlocks the carriage you can unplug the power cord, and move manually to remove printheads.

If locked all the time, you will have to remove the right cover and unlock manually.

Hi Valsimot. I removed the cartridges, removed the right cover, and removed the print heads, but unfortunately the error remains.

From the service manual:

System Error: 01.0:YZ
Problem Description: Communication with Main PCA failed
Corrective Action: Try the following:
1. Switch the power off from the back of the printer and disconnect the power cord.
Reconnect the power cord and power on the printer.
2. Remove the Formatter and reinsert it again. Ensure that it connects properly in the Main
PCA connector.
◦ Replace the Main PCA. See Electronics Module Main PCA and PSU on page 247.
◦ Replace the Formatter. See Formatter on page 255.

There is nothing much you can do, unless you have a spare Main PCA for test

Hi. Thank you for your time. Can you tell me the part number for the replacement part? I can't figure it out. I'd like to try to find a used one. Thanks again.
