The first error is a communication failure between the scanner control board and the formatter pca. Three possible causes, unseated or bad usb cable, bad scanner control board and bad Engine PCA. Replaced in that order to resolve.
The second error is a failed firmware upgrade and you should re-apply the newest firmware.
