Microsoft Windows XP

Yea, I know this is an ancient plotter but I am using Autocad r.14 and the two

work well together. The plotter will do the self test and print beatifully. It will

also print the setup sheet.

I couldn't hook the printer up to my pc because the pc contains

only usb ports so I got print server 300x. The plotter will not print

the configuration sheet. I have new hp  parallell port for the plotter

and the router is new.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Rick

If this is a desktop computer with expansion ports, add a parallel port. My experience with USB to parallel adapters is mixed at best.

Thanks for the tip repairman. If the plotter is doing the self test can I be sure

that it works or is it possible that there are hardware problems related to

communication?

Worth the minimal hardware investment in my opinion as direct parallel is going to give you best experience. There appears to be some contradictory information about parallel support in Windows 11 so you might want to dig into that a little further. I would suspect an issue with the 300X over the plotter, but that is just a personal guess.
