Ever had this error on one of those newer T series, specifically T520?
"missing or failed printhead"
It came up with this so I just tried to replace with a new one and I get the same error. Dang it! about $250 printhead!.
Tried to do a cold restart but nothing different—unplug for a few minutes, etc.
Thinking maybe it is the trailing cable or some board. But don't know presently.

I`ve seen this a few times before and it was the carriage pca...

The attached pca, correct? (Well, don't know if that pic upload is going to work--PN
CQ890-67022
, correct?) Thanks for your input. I'll check it out, and try to post back. I bet you are right. Although totally different printer and just now thinking about it, after printhead replacement, I had a continual "reseat" on a black/yellow printhead on an L26500 and the solution was carriage pca replacement. I bet similar principle.

I've seen this a few times on the t730 and t830 which is an almost identical machine
It was the main board on the t520
this part no CQ890-67097 or CQ893-67030 i think.
The carriage board is not likely to sort the problem, and is also more difficult to replace than it might seem.
Kind regards
Peter

Perthblue1960 & Styloid, thanks.: Carriage pca OR main pca. I am not sure which to replace. I will probably start with the replacement of the lesser cost of the 2, probably the carriage pca although I assume is a more difficult replacement. I think the carriage pca is about $100 or so and the main pca is about $300 or so.
Thanks very much

I did notice that the black printhead line on the "old" printhead was wet with black ink at first but then the more I tried to get a black printhead line of ink to appear, it ran out after what seemed to be a few drops of black ink and there seemed to be very little ink in the "black ink cartridge" as well. So I am wondering whether the black printhead line was empty or almost empty and burned out or drew too much voltage or something and caused the failure of the "carriage pca" or "main pca"--just assuming that if a printhead runs dry that it would burn out and/or perhaps cause something else, carriage, main, or other pca to burn out as well. The other colors seemed fine but not black. The black side of the printhead seemed to be empty of black ink--could see no black ink in the tiny clear plastic compartment on the "old" printhead, where the black ink cartridge adjoins the printhead. [Not sure of all this. Just again, I have only experienced 1 time a bad printhead (a tiny hole was blown in the printhead) causing the failure of a carriage pca on an HP L26500 (Latex 260)]. Thanks.

Before you do anything else, ensure that you have the current firmware installed and then restart the printhead replacement process.
