Using Poly Lens dashboard to push config to a EDGE E100 device works just fine except for local admin password. Everything is properly push to the device when resetting it but it keeps asking for admin password as it provisionned and rebooted. The phone can call with no problem and all other configs are successfully applied on the device. Local admin is set in Poly Lens in a Site policy level. E100 is at latest firmware version 8.4.1.0062. It this could be fixed or prompting for an admin password is part of the reset process?

Thanks in advance for your help and have a nice one!

Hello @Amiro2k, Welcome to the HP Poly Support Community.

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding the Poly Edge E100.

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution. We hope our assistance has been helpful!

It sounds like you are encountering an issue where the Poly Lens dashboard is able to push configurations to your Poly EDGE E100 device successfully, except for the local admin password. Even after reset, the device still prompts for an admin password during provisioning and rebooting.

1. Firmware Version: Ensure that the device is indeed running the latest firmware version. As you mentioned, the EDGE E100 is at version 8.4.1.0062, which should support the features configured via Poly Lens.

2. Site Policy Settings: Double-check the site policy settings in Poly Lens, especially focusing on the section where the local admin password is configured. Ensure that there are no syntax errors or incorrect entries.

3. Password Synchronization: Sometimes, devices may require a manual synchronization step to align with the Poly Lens settings fully. Consider manually entering the password on the device to see if subsequent updates apply the policy correctly.

4. Reboot and Retry: Try rebooting the device manually after the configuration push to see if it synchronizes the password setting.

5. Poly Lens Logs: Check logs in Poly Lens for any errors or warnings associated with password setting. This might provide further insight into what might be preventing the password update.

Take care and have an amazing day!

Hi Meghana,

Thanks for your reply although I double check every settings before posting here. Password is OK and nothing in the audit log regarding this... I checked all the points you mentionned and anything looks wrong there. It just won't pick up the password set in Poly Lens as its resetting and picking up configurations from Poly Lens... I'll keep trying to get this solved...

Hi Everybody,

I found out what was wrong and it was a setting set to OFF. Once enable, the E100 device reset well without prompting for the admin password...

Thanks all for your help!
