Hi, I Within the last month purchased a HP Omen Pc. On my old I used to play a lot of FPS games like Valorant and the audio on the game was perfect I could hear all around me like it was surround sound I would know exactly where people are etc. On this new Hp Omen Pc I have tried 3 different headsets and seem to find that they all don't have this on this pc. It is like the audio is merged together and everything and everyone sounds close or far away there isn't any surround sound at all no settings was changed on the game. I've tried to uninstall and reinstall drivers, updating software for headsets, uninstall the game and reinstall. But nothing seems to work. Could it be a sound card issue?

Hi @Foxeh20,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding the audio on FPS games!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
It sounds like your spatial audio (surround sound) isn’t working correctly on your new HP Omen PC. This could be due to Windows settings, audio drivers, or missing surround sound configurations. Try these steps to fix the issue:
Enable Spatial Sound in Windows
- Right-click the speaker icon on the taskbar.
- Select Sound settings → Scroll down to Advanced sound options.
- Under Output, select your headset.
- Click Properties → Under Spatial Sound, select Windows Sonic for Headphones or Dolby Atmos (if available).
Check In-Game Audio Settings (Valorant)
- Open Valorant → Go to Settings → Audio.
- Ensure HRTF (Head-Related Transfer Function) is enabled (this enhances 3D audio for FPS games).
- Check if stereo mode is enabled instead of mono audio.
Use Headset-Specific Software
- If your headset supports 7.1 surround sound (like HyperX, Razer, Logitech), install its official software (e.g., Razer Synapse, Logitech G Hub).
- Open the software and enable surround sound manually.
Update Audio Drivers
- Right-click Start → Select Device Manager.
- Expand Sound, video, and game controllers.
- Right-click your audio device (e.g., Realtek, Intel, or your headset).
- Click Update driver → Search automatically.
- Restart your PC after updating.

Roll Back Audio Drivers (If Issue Started Recently)
- Open Device Manager → Sound, video, and game controllers.
- Right-click your audio device → Properties.
- Go to the Driver tab → Click Roll Back Driver (if available).
- Restart your PC.
Set Correct Audio Format
- Right-click the speaker icon → Sound settings.
- Click More sound settings → Playback tab.
- Select your headset → Click Properties.
- Under Advanced, try different sample rates (e.g., 24-bit, 48000 Hz).
- Click Apply → OK.
If none of this work, let me know I have more steps up my sleeves! 😊
