Hello,
I need my sons to use the computer for doing homework quietly using their headphones while I do other work but when I plug in my headphones to the headphone jack of my computer, sometimes it works and other times you can hear the audio on the headphones and the computer itself (both ways).  Also,   on some websites we're unable to hear any audio
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks in advance
Marjorie

Hi! @vanessa_6065, Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A great place where you can find solutions for your issues with help from the community!

I understand audio is playing both from headphones and speaker on your PC.

Don't worry I'll try to help you out.

Did you make any software or hardware changes on your PC?

Please try the steps recommended below.

1: Go to device manager

2: Find sound and game controllers

3: Right click on high definition audio device and click update driver software

4: Click browse my computer for driver software

5: Then click on let me pick from a list of devices on my computer

6: And select high definition audio device and click ok.

Restart your PC and check if the issue persists.

If the issue still persists uninstall the audio drivers from device manager and install the latest audio from HP support assistant.
