We purchased a used HP TouchSmart 7320 PC a few years ago from our employer. It worked great until we reinstalled Windows (10) in March 2024 through Microsoft. We were able to recover most if not all files on the solid state hard drive after the reboot/install. Except, the audio driver (speaker and microphone) were lost in the reinstall. After running the problem through HP service procedures and contacting the company's service department directly through Chat and also on a telephone, they came to the conclusion that this model HP Touchsmart is "obsolete" and HP does not have a driver to install to make the audio work. I contacted Microsoft service and their tech department came to the same dead end..... they couldn't help and referred us back to HP. Intel support brought us to the same dead end.
We like this computer and want to keep it but are willing to spend an appropriate amount for an audio driver. HP's best offer was to buy a new desktop CPU, minimum $500.
My question: Is there another way to add sound to this computer cheaper than the $500 HP offers. The desktop has plug ins for microphone and speakers and I've tried to use the Bluetooth feature to no avail.
Can you help?

Your PC came with the IDT audio chip, so the only suggestion I can offer would be to install this W10 IDT audio driver, restart the PC and hope that gets the sound to work again.
