I Reset my PC some time ago and did not realize Resetting would Remove some Apps including the Audio. I know the App's label or description but a second problem has occurred. Windows Help yesterday had me Uninstall the App entirely from the System but then could not help further. The PC is from 2013, originally Windows 8a but updated a few years later to 10-64 bit.

Hi:
Your PC comes with the IDT audio system.
See if this W10 IDT audio driver from a newer model desktop PC works on yours.
Restart the PC after installing the driver...
VERSION: 6.10.6504.0

Hi Paul - - Thanks for your input. I entered the ftp.hp.com/ address you gave. The reply said /sp71717.exe would not work and gave /sp71811.exe instead but that one is only for, apparently, notebook computers. It then said that, if that fails to work, to go to Device manager and click to expand the Sound, video, and game controllers device category. I quote:
"1. Select IDT High Definition Audio CODEC.
2. Select Driver tab.
3. Click Update Driver . . .button
4. Select ->Browse my computer for driver software.
5. Select ->Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.
6. Select High Definition Audio Device (NOT IDT High Def... and this is important) and click Next.
A warning message may appear but click Yes.
7. Windows has successfully updated your driver software.
8. Restart the PC.
The key is step 6."
Oh, and I did set a Restore Point before starting this. The sound seems to work OK as I type this. Thanks again as I would not have come as far as I did.

You're very welcome.
If you click on the link with Internet Explorer, it will work.
There's some kind of bug with the FTP site and Edge/Chrome.
Or I think you can download it this way by adding the http:// in front, which I have already done.
