@5CD1189THZ, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop is showing “No audio output device is installed” or you're unable to hear sound, please follow these steps to restore audio functionality:

Check Playback Devices

  • Right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar.
  • Select Playback devices or Sound settings.
  • Ensure your audio device is listed and has a green checkmark.
  • If not, right-click and choose Set as Default Device.

Run Windows Sound Troubleshooter

  • Right-click the speaker icon again.
  • Select Troubleshoot sound problems.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions and apply any recommended fixes.

Enable and Update Audio Driver

  • Press Windows + X → select Device Manager.
  • Expand Sound, video and game controllers.
  • Right-click your audio device (e.g., Realtek, Intel, etc.) → choose Update driver.
  • Select Search automatically for updated driver software.
  • If no update is found, try Uninstall device, then restart your PC to reinstall it automatically.

Use HP Audio Check Tool
