The computer connects to the speaker with no issues, but the sound still comes through the computer.

That's not it.  It stopped working all of a sudden.  I ended up deleting the bluetooth speaker and re-pairing it.  It's working now.  I appreciate the response, though!

Open sound settings (right click on speaker icon)

 

select the output device

The dialog box may be slightly different, for example:"m3" is my bluetooth
