There seems to be a bug in the Omen audio control equalizer section of the app. It always says " This feature isn't available when using this Headphone/external device. Please unplug this device to enable." I don't have headphones plugged in. All I have is a speaker plugged into the rear jack. If I unplug that, the equalizer doesn't appear at all. No matter what I plug in or unplug, I get the same message.
Yes, I have all the latest drivers but I'm running Windows 11. New Omen 30L desktop. No version number available on the Omen audio control app.

Here's an update that might help some people. I had the Realtek driver, 6.0.9180.1 installed for the sound, video and game controllers but the Omen audio controller app wouldn't enable the equalizer nor would the Realtek HD audio manger run from the control panel. I reinstalled the Realtek 2.81 driver which installs the 6.0.1.8036 driver for the sound, video and game controllers, which brings back the control panel audio manger but the Omen app won't run at all. At least with the Realtek manager, I have the equalizer back and the sound is much fuller. I'm not so concerned with the Omen audio app as long as I have the Realtek control panel app available.

I don't think you're going to find anything on the HP website as far as an updated Audio Control app or updated drivers. I've been all over the HP site and there's nothing helpful there. If the website can't even identify the product number or serial number, the database must be pretty out of date. If at all possible, contact the person (people) who are responsible for the audio control app and see if they can run a test or determine what the problem is. Windows thinks there's only speakers plugged it so why does the app think it's a headset? Sounds like a bug to me.
