I have been doing a lot of troubleshooting to get the device microphone to work. I went into the Bios to see if there I was able ot do anything and even did a systems check on the microphone and its still not working. I also troubleshooted the basics changing devices and everything but the built-in microphone is still not working, however any external one does. I need the internal/built-in microphone to be operational, is there anything I am missing?

Hi @Erick-the-G,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you've done a lot of troubleshooting and the built-in microphone is still not working on your HP Pavilion All-in-One PC, let's go through some additional steps to identify any settings or configurations that might have been overlooked:
1. Verify Microphone in Device Manager
- Open Device Manager and expand Audio inputs and outputs.
- Look for the built-in microphone (it may be listed as "Microphone Array" or "Realtek High Definition Audio" if that's your audio driver).
- If it’s missing or shows an error, right-click and select Scan for hardware changes to see if Windows detects it.
- If detected but still not working, right-click and select Update driver.
2. Check Sound Settings
- Go to Settings > System > Sound.
- Under Input, check if your built-in microphone is listed and selected as the default input device.
- Click Device properties and test the microphone. If you see no activity on the test bar, continue troubleshooting.
3. Run the Windows Troubleshooter
- In Settings > System > Sound, scroll down and click Troubleshoot under Input.
- This built-in tool can detect configuration issues and apply fixes.
4. Update Audio Drivers
- Visit the HP Support site, locate your model (HP Pavilion All-in-One 27-ca0000a), and download the latest audio driver for Windows 11.
- Install the driver, restart your PC, and check if this resolves the issue.
5. Adjust Privacy Settings for Microphone Access
- Go to Settings > Privacy & security > Microphone.
- Ensure Microphone access is enabled for the system, and that apps have permission to use it.
6. Disable Audio Enhancements
- In Settings > System > Sound, go to Input and select the Device properties of your microphone.
- Select Additional device properties to open the Microphone Properties window.
- Go to the Enhancements tab and uncheck Enable audio enhancements (if available). Sometimes, enhancements interfere with the microphone’s functionality.
7. Check BIOS Settings
- Restart your computer and enter the BIOS/UEFI settings (usually by pressing F10 or Esc during startup).
- Look for any audio or microphone-related settings and ensure the microphone is enabled.
- Save changes and exit.
8. Update BIOS
- If the BIOS is outdated, updating it could fix hardware detection issues.
- Visit the HP support website, find the latest BIOS update for your model, and follow the instructions to update it.
9. Check HP Support Assistant
- Open HP Support Assistant (if installed), and run a full diagnostic on audio/microphone components to identify any issues.
10. Perform a Windows Clean Boot
- Sometimes, other applications interfere with hardware.
- Perform a clean boot by disabling all non-Microsoft services and startup applications, then restart and check if the microphone works.

I hope this helps.
