I need to know if I can add a sound card, I am not finding any info on it.
I am getting a crackling sound in a certain sim and the only way it stops is to use
24 bit 192000 hz sampling, I need to add a sound card to get rid of the crackling noise.
I do not want to run the sim at that sampling rate. Purchase date was January of 2023.
Thanks
Steve

@SteveMack1, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding adding a Sound Card!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
You can indeed add a sound card to your HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop PC TG01-1070m CTO to improve the audio quality and eliminate the crackling sound you're experiencing in certain applications.
Research Compatibility:
- Visit HP's support page and enter your product model number.
- Download the product specifications and check the details for free PCIe slots available for a sound card.
Purchase a Compatible Sound Card:
- Ensure the sound card is compatible with PCIe slots in your desktop.
- Popular brands like Creative and ASUS offer good quality sound cards.
Prepare Your PC:
- Power down your PC and disconnect all cables, including the power cable.
- Open the case following anti-static precautions to avoid damaging components.
Install the Sound Card:
- Locate a free PCIe slot on the motherboard and insert the sound card into the slot.
- Secure the card using screws if needed.
Install Drivers and Configure:
- After installation, power up your PC.
- Install the necessary drivers and software for the sound card’s full functionality.
- Configure your audio settings to your preferred sampling rate without crackling issues.
By following these steps, you should be able to add a sound card to mitigate the audio issues and improve your gaming and overall multimedia experience.
Take care, and have an amazing day!
