I have a pair of Bose desktop speakers with a 3.5mm plug. The only place it fits on my PC is where the headphones go. However, I haven't been able to hear anything from the speakers. Is it possible to connect external speakers to this all-in-one computer? The more specific the help, the better. Thank you so much!!

@richking13 Greetings from the HP Community!

Remember: Do not share any of your personal information such as serial, phone number, email ID, etc.
That said, here's some generic information you should know, while you get me the specific product name for a specific answer 😉
The below information describes the ports and connector plugs needed to use speakers or headphones with your computer.
NOTE:To set up headphones with wireless Bluetooth technology, see HP PCs - Connecting a Bluetooth Device (Windows).
Connectors
Your computer speakers might feature a 3.5mm audio connector plug, a USB connector, or another type of audio connector plug.
Your headphones have a three-segmented or four-segmented connector plug. Both produce sound when plugged into a headphone port. The three-segmented plug is for headphones only. The four-segmented plug supports a headphone and an attached microphone.
Ports
Insert the speaker plug into the audio out port or USB port, depending on the type of connector plug. If the connector plug does not fit in any of the ports on your computer, you might need to use an adapter to connect to one of the available ports.
Insert the headphone plug into the port on the computer marked with a headphones icon.
Let me know how that pans out,

@richking13 If this is your product & you'll need to be more specific as 24-r0xx is not specific: click here to verify, If yes, here's what you need to know:
The above on #3 is the headphone/microphone combo port and when you connect an external speaker to it, make sure the cable fits in all the way, it should work absolutely fine.
If you wish to thank me for my efforts, you could click on "Accept as solution" on my post as the solution should help others too.
