- Can I hope for drivers for Linux to play a proper sound?

So I made a leap towards the open source and I am somewhat happy with how much faster and responsive the system is. Incredibly faster. What a bliss!
But I have one problem: the sound. It isn't as good as on Windows. It plays, but it sounds flat and restricted, lacking the fullness from the internal speakers. I tried a few programs to tweak the equaliser, but there were issues and the sound still wasn't up to the standard I am used to. I am currently using Zorin, but I might go back to LMDE.
Is there a hope for some updated driver so my Debian/Ubuntu based Linux utilises the full potential of the internal speakers?
I am not going back to Windows for the foreseeable future, just hoping that HP would help the minority to make the best use of their machines.
This is over five years old machine, and whoever comes on the market with improved user experience for Linux, will be my next brand. I'll keep my eyes peeled.
My machine is HP ProOne 600 G5 21.5-in All-in-One Business PC.
