I done a recovery a few weeks back can't hear sound from videos since. I have a pair of speakers plugged in the back that has been there a long time. Just started having issues since recovery.

@JMR79,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

In order that I may provide you with an accurate solution, I will need a few more details.

  • What is the exact model for your computer?
  • What is the operating system you are using?
  • How did you do the recovery?
  • Have you made any hardware changes on the computer?

Look forward to hearing from you and you have a great day!

Take care.

Cheers!

It is HP Pavilion model 500-223w

I upgraded to the windows 10

I went into settings found recovery and done what it said

No hardware changes have been made as I know of

I went to HP support to see if any drivers might be the problem updated whatever it told me to

I didn't have any problems until I done the recovery. I bought another pair of external speakers thought the first ones might have went bad still no sound.

@JMR79,

Thank you for the information.

I recommend you download and install the audio driver from the below link and check if it helps.

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp71501-72000/sp71866.exe

If the issue persists, try the below driver.
