Computer says "microphone not working correctly"

HP Recommended
EliteDesk 705
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have tried multiple audio input devices: headset (headset input), EpocCam (app based), webcam (USB), and keep getting a message that the microphone doesn't seem to be working. I've updated every driver I can think of and tried using different inputs, but can't get anywhere. The HP Audio troubleshooter doesn't find any problems. I would be happy to provide any screenshots or other info, but I am lost as to where to proceed from here.
