Hello,
The Synaptics/Conexant is once again a source of pure joy.
The CxUIUSvc service does not start and therefore the HP Audio Controls app does not open.
If I start the file "C:\Windows\System32\CxUIUSvc64.exe" manually, I get a message from the Program Compatibility Assistant:
"This app can´t run because it causes security or performance issues on Windows. A new version may be available. Check with your software provider for an updated version..." |
The current driver version 8.65.319.200 Rev.A is installed.
Uninstalling and reinstalling the driver unfortunately did not help.
Yes, the system is quite old, but it is even on the "Tested with Windows 11" list.
Although I fear that I already know the answer: Will there be a driver update?
Thanks and greetings, Martin

Hi @mfessler
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you're experiencing issues with the CxUIUSvc service and HP Audio Controls related to your Synaptics/Conexant audio driver. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot this issue:
Check for Driver Updates:
- Visit the HP support website and enter your laptop model. Look for updated audio drivers that may address the issue. Download and install the latest version if available.
Use Windows Update:
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and check for updates. Sometimes Microsoft provides driver updates through Windows Update.
Compatibility Troubleshooter:
- Right-click on the CxUIUSvc64.exe file, select Properties, then go to the Compatibility tab. Run the Compatibility Troubleshooter to see if it can find a suitable configuration.
Clean Installation of Audio Drivers:
- Use Device Manager to uninstall the audio driver completely. Ensure you check the option to delete the driver software. After that, reboot your laptop, and Windows should automatically reinstall the default audio drivers.
Install Older Drivers:
- If the latest driver isn't working, you might consider rolling back to an earlier version that was known to work. You can find previous driver versions on the HP support site.
Check for Conflicting Software:
- Sometimes other audio software can conflict with the HP Audio Controls. Check if any other audio management applications are running and try disabling or uninstalling them.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
