Hi @Dan639,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The HP V270 is a monitor, not a speaker system, so it does not have built-in speakers or audio output capabilities. This is why you’re not seeing any volume options on the monitor itself.

If you’re connecting a Nintendo Switch (or any other device) to the HP V270 monitor and expecting audio, here’s what you need to know and what you can do:

1. Check Monitor Specifications

  • Confirm Audio Capabilities: The HP V270 does not have integrated speakers or audio capabilities. You can confirm this by reviewing the monitor's user manual or specifications on HP’s official website.

2. Connect External Speakers or Headphones

  • Use the Switch’s Audio Output: Since the monitor doesn’t support audio, you need to connect external speakers or headphones to your Nintendo Switch.
    • For External Speakers: Use the headphone jack on the Nintendo Switch (if using a docked setup) or a Bluetooth connection for wireless speakers.
    • For Headphones: Plug them into the headphone jack on the Nintendo Switch.

3. Ensure Proper Connections

For Docked Switch:

  • Connect the Nintendo Switch to the dock using an HDMI cable.
  • Connect external speakers to the headphone jack on the Switch dock or use Bluetooth speakers.

For Undocked Switch:

  • Connect external speakers or headphones directly to the headphone jack on the Switch.

4. Check Audio Settings

On the Nintendo Switch:

  • Go to Settings > System > Audio and make sure the audio output is set to the correct device (either the headphone jack or Bluetooth speakers).

On External Speakers:

  • Ensure that the external speakers or headphones are turned on and the volume is adjusted correctly.

5. Alternative Connection

  • If Using Bluetooth:
    • Pair your Bluetooth speakers or headphones with the Nintendo Switch if they support Bluetooth audio.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
