HP ENVY Recline 27-k001a TouchSmart All-in-One Desktop PC (ENERGY STAR)

Hi, my brother gave me his computer but I can't get the audio to work with the built in speakers. I've downloaded the Realtek driver and restarted but it hasn't made a difference. I can't change any settings in the sound settings section. There is still a red x on the speaker icon in the bottom right-hand corner. I've downloaded the 10 updates. I'm at a loss! In addition, he said he only used extra speakers, which I don't want to do.

I'm hoping someone can help me.

Kind regards

Hi:

Your PC has the IDT audio chip, not the Realtek one.

See if installing this W10 IDT audio driver from a newer model AIO PC gets the sound to work again.

Restart the PC after installing the driver.
